What time is check-in and check-out?
Check in at Albany Hotel is available from 2pm, and check-out is at 11am. If your room is ready before this you can check in then. If not, you can leave any luggage to store with us while you explore the city, and we will call you as soon as your room is available.
Is reception open 24 hours?
Yes, reception at Albany Hotel is open 24 hours, giving guests support throughout their stay in Edinburgh’s New Town. This also means late arrivals can be accommodated if you are travelling to the city later in the evening.
Can I leave my luggage before check-in/after check out?
Yes, guests are welcome to leave luggage with us before check-in or after check-out. This makes it easier to enjoy Edinburgh before your room is ready, or make the most of the city after you check out.

Is the Albany Hotel accessible?
No. Albany Hotel is set within a historic Georgian townhouse, so there is no lift and we do not currently offer fully accessible rooms. Some areas may not be suitable for guests with mobility requirements, and some rooms require stairs for access.

Where is Albany Hotel located?
Albany Hotel is located at 39–47 Albany Street in Edinburgh’s historic New Town, in the city centre. The hotel is close to St James Quarter, Edinburgh Playhouse, Broughton Street, restaurants, shops and the city’s main transport links.
How do I get to the hotel?
Trams are one of the easiest ways to get to and from the airport with fast and frequent services to Edinburgh city centre. Trams depart every 7 minutes, between 7am and 7pm, and every 10 minutes out with these hours, with an end-to-end journey of just 30 minutes. A ticket to the airport is £7.90 (or £9.50 return) and you can buy this at every tram stop.

Is parking available?
The Albany Hotel does not have its own car park but there is pay per hour parking on a first come first served basis in front of the hotel (this is free between 6.30pm and 8:30am).

Is breakfast available at Albany Hotel?
We offer a complimentary 'Grab and go' breakfast service which has a selection of teas/coffees, fruit and breakfast bars. Guests can also enjoy a full à la carte breakfast menu at our sister hotel, New Town Hotel, just a short walk away at 8 York Place.
